With over 90 years’ relevant experience, deep market knowledge and industry wide relationships across office, retail, industrial and specialist real estate sub-sectors we are exclusively focused on identifying and creating value sustainably.

Our Approach

We have a highly disciplined and entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities. We believe substantial value is created at the acquisition stage and we look at a wide range of opportunities with a largely unconstrained view on value - across sectors, Australia’s listed and unlisted real estate markets, capital structure and return profile.

Our Capabilities

Over the period our team has worked together our direct real estate funds delivered an investor equity return of 24.5% pa on average.

During this time we grew assets under management from approximately $800 million to in excess of $3.2 billion and increased the market value of our platform by $294 million.

Our experience involves billions of dollars in real estate acquisitions, sales and related equity and debt financing including multiple IPOs, hundreds of leasing transactions and major capital expenditure and development projects across a range of real estate markets and sectors.

  • Alex Abell

    MANAGING PARTNER

    Over 20 years’ of experience across all the key areas of real estate funds management, including asset management, leasing, capital transactions, corporate finance and investor relations.

    Head of Listed Funds (total assets $2.4 billion) and Fund manager Dexus Industria REIT (ASX:DXI) (formerly APN Industria REIT) $1.6 billion portfolio grown from approximately $400 million in 2016.

    Delivered one of the first carbon neutral certified ASX listed AREITs (Climate Active verification standard).

    Previous roles across multiple property sectors at Investa Office, Stockland and Halladale (United Kingdom).

    Achievements include delivering Investa Office Fund’s strategy of selling offshore assets and reinvesting proceeds into the domestic market to establish a high quality portfolio of Australian CBD Office assets generating attractive risk-adjusted returns, to managing a suite of funds in the UK from 2006 to 2010, a period of rapid change in real estate markets.

    Holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.

  • Tim Slattery

    MANAGING PARTNER

    Over 20 years’ experience across real estate investment management, finance and law.

    Most recently CEO of ASX listed APN Property Group (ASX:APD) and then Head of Listed Funds with Dexus (ASX:DXS) following the agreed sale of APN to Dexus.

    11 years with APN and growth of platform from under $1 billion to in excess of $3.8 billion (including sale of healthcare fund) market value of platform $26 million to $320 million (2013 – 2021).

    Previously roles in investment banking with Goldman Sachs and corporate law with Herbert Smith Freehills.

    Mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions worth over A$8 billion within Australia and internationally including a number of significant commercial real estate transactions across, retail, office, industrial and healthcare including in recent years the listing on ASX of APN Industria REIT and APN Convenience Retail REIT with over A$800 million in assets at IPO dates.

    Chair, Property Industry Foundation Victoria, National Board Member, Property Industry Foundation.

    Degrees in Law (Honours), Science, and Masters of Business Administration (London Business School).

  • Chris Aylward

    CHAIRMAN

    With over 50 years of experience, Chris commenced his career in real estate in 1972.

    Previously founder, major shareholder and Chairman of ASX listed APN Property Group (ASX:APD)

    Significant experience in the management, marketing, construction and development of residential and commercial real estate.

    Previously Chris was a principal of Richard Ellis, now CBRE, and responsible for City Sales and Leasing.

    Chris joined the Grollo Group as Development Manager and personal assistant to Bruno Grollo, in 1984.

    In 1987 Chris became a founding director in Grocon Pty Ltd and a substantial shareholder retiring in 1994 and from the board in 1996.

    Chris founded Kooyong Wines and Ocean 8 wines and maintains an interest in the wine industry.
